MERSEA WEEK - Round Island Race (16th Aug 00)

This is the race where dinghies have to sail around Mersea Island. On the way round the helm and crew has to get out of the boat and carry it over 'The Strood', then put it back in the water on the other side. For those that don't know 'The Strood', it's the only road that connects Mersea Island to the mainland.

70 2nd Tim Wilkinson TOPPER Tim Wilkinson was 2nd in the Topper Class
Comment: 110 boats finished the race in very windy conditions.
