PICTURE GALLERY - Vic's Day out on the Maldon Barges (20th May 01) |
| Many thanks to Vic Tate (the person in the first picture with a beer)
for inviting the Sailing Club out on two Maldon Barges to celebrate his
birthday. As you can see from the pictures, it went with a real swing. At
1030hrs the Barges, Hydrogen and Thistle, sailed down the
River Blackwater to Bradwell, where they anchored and rafted up together
for lunch at 1400hrs. Some of the pictures below show people transferring
from one barge to the other for a delicious lunch. Later on in the afternoon both barges tacked on further east until they nearly reached the Bench Head Buoy, and then turned around to run back up into Maldon, arriving 2215hrs - a great day out, but tiring! |
