| Maldon Quay is about as far up the River
Blackwater that you can sail in a cruiser (further up there is a low
bridge). There isn't much water here - so you can't stay long unless
you can take the ground. There's limited space to moor up to the quay,
but it maybe possible to raft up along side another craft, although
great care should be exercised when tying up to the Maldon barges -
some of them have nasty bits of rusty metal protruding from them. In the background of the picture is the Jolly Sailor pub and the Maldon Little Ships Sailing Club. Maldon Little Ships Sailing Club website:
