Sailing Tour Heybridge Basin

Further up the River Blackwater towards Maldon is Heybridge Basin. It's possible to 'lock' into the canal here, but this can only be done close to high tide, and with the aid of the 'Lock Keeper'. Nearby, there are two good pubs, which again do good food, to help ensure an enjoyable evening. Incidentally, some mariners replenish their ships supplies, by venturing the one and a half miles up the canal in their dinghies to the Tesco's food store, which is right on the canals bank.
